Please note all our prices on this page are estimates and depending upon the circumstances of your matter the prices may vary. The fee earner dealing with your matter will confirm costs with you.
There are a number of ways in which we charge. We are flexible and reasonable about our fees and display our charging rates below.
Time Charge Basis
This is the traditional method by which solicitors charge.
Our rates are competitive and are based upon the location of our office. Our fees range from £100 per hour to £255 plus VAT.
At the very beginning of the matter, we will send you a client care letter setting out our terms and cost estimate.
In litigation matters, there may be some manoeuvrability in costs depending upon the seniority of the fee earners engaged with the case and the level of experience of Counsel who we instruct to advise and represent you.
Charge Rates
– Principal Solicitor Solicitors with over 8 years of experience £255 per hour exclusive of VAT
– Consultant Solicitors £255 per hour exclusive of VAT
– Trainee Solicitors £126 per hour exclusive of VAT
– Paralegals £126 per hour exclusive of VAT
– Administrative Staff and Work Experience £100 per hour exclusive of VAT
Timescales will vary depending on the circumstances. Please ask the fee earner dealing with this matter for a timescale.
Debt Recovery
We will not usually take on a case of less than £2500 as the cost of instructing a solicitor will not be proportionate to the sum of being claimed.
We can arrange for an initial free 30 minute telephone consultation.
If however, you wish an attendance in person then an initial fixed fee meeting is required. This will range from £100 – £255 plus VAT depending on the length of the meeting and the seniority of the fee earner and the location of the meeting.
Any further time will be charged on a timed basis.
Fixed Fees
In appropriate cases (such as possession proceedings acting on behalf of the landlords), we may agree to quote a fixed fee for an item of work.
All fixed fees must be agreed in writing by ourselves.
If you would like a fixed fee, please let us know as we deal with each case on its own merits.
Legal Aid
We do not possess a legal aid franchise and cannot help under the legal aid scheme.
If you believe you may be able to apply for legal aid, then we would ask you to contact a firm that has a legal aid franchise.
Legal expenses insurance
If you have a policy and we can secure cover, then the insurer will pick up the legal costs, subject to the terms of the policy.
We can be appointed as non-panel solicitors and we can agree charging rates with the legal expense insurers (approximately circa £150 per hour exclusive of our insured work).
You will be responsible on a time basis for any pre-insurance work prior to cover being granted.
Securing the grant of cover can be difficult and is usually necessary to support for cover with Counsel’s opinion confirming at least a 51% prospect of success.
This cover is frequently contained in business insurance and home content policies but may also be available through your bank or credit card facilities. We therefore ask you to check if you have such legal expenses cover.
We are from time to time appointed when our clients have lost confidence in their panel solicitors to represent them, and we apply to take over the conduct of the case.
Alternatively, we can review your policy documents and we will be able to make an application for cover with you.
Unless you have a very strong claim, we do not advise leaving the assessment of the merits to a panel solicitor based upon your completion of the claim form.

No win no fee
We offer ‘No Win No Fee’ where there is a reasonably strong claim for success and if in appropriate circumstances (such as personal injury claims, fatal accident claims, housing disrepair claims and tenancy deposit claims).
